Dr. Steven Li is a professor with the Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA. Dr. Li’s research interests include Data Analytics, Applied Statistics and Operations Research, Reliability/Quality/Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering and its Applications in Product Design and Development, Diagnostics and Prognostics of Complex Engineering Systems, and Engineering Management. He received his PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington. He is an ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer, and Caterpillar Six Sigma Black Belt. Dr. Li’s most recent industry position was a reliability team lead with Caterpillar Rail Division to support the company’s New Four Stroke Engine and Gas-Diesel Dual Fuel Engine Development. He serves on editorial boards for prestigious journals such as the IEEE Reliability Society’s flagship journal of IEEE Transactions on Reliability. He is a senior member of IISE and IEEE. He has served as a board member of IISE Quality Control and Reliability Engineering and IEEE Reliability Society. He has been the VP for Publications of IEEE Reliability Society since 2019.
