Abstract:

Importance measures in reliability systems are used to identify weak components in contributing to proper functioning of the system. Traditional analyses of the effect of external factors mainly concern the direct effect of the external factors on the system based on the practical data in applications, and seldom consider the mechanism of the effect of the external factors on the system reliability and performance through the internal components. In this paper, we propose new importance measures to effectively give the quantitative effect of the state of the external factor on the component and system performance in multi-state systems.
