A Performability Framework for System AnalysesSC IJPE 20Meng-Lai YinElectrical and Computer Engineering, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona; and Network Centric Systems, Specialty Engineering, Fullerton, Raytheon, USA
Received on: March 27, 2009
Abstract:Performability, having the capability of providing a holistic view of system attributes, is suitable for serving as a framework to integrate various system analyses. This article is motivated by two observed problems in today's industry, i.e., the lack of a mechanism to monitor the integrity of system analyses, and the resistance of applying conventional performability measures. A framework based on the concept of performability is proposed, which provides a systematic view for all attributes while maintaining individual attributes' characteristics.
