Professor Steven Li

Dr. Steven Li is Professor with the Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at Western New England University in Springfield, MA, USA. Dr. Li’s research interests include Data Analytics, Applied Statistics and Operations Research, Reliability/Quality/Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering and its Applications in Product Design and Development, Diagnostics and Prognostics of Complex Engineering Systems, and Engineering Management. He received his PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington. He is an ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), and Caterpillar Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB). Dr. Li’s most recent industry position was a reliability team lead with Caterpillar Rail Division to support the company’s New Four Stroke Engine and Gas-Diesel Dual Fuel Engine Development. He is serving on editorial boards for prestigious journals such as the IEEE Reliability Society’s flagship journal of IEEE Transactions on Reliability. He is a senior member of IISE and IEEE. He has served as board members of IISE Quality Control and Reliability Engineering and IEEE Reliability Society. He is the VP for Publications of IEEE Reliability Society in 2019.


Professor Fevzi Belli

Dr. Fevzi Belli is a professor emeritus of software engineering at University of Paderborn and at Izmir Institute of Technology. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D., degrees and Habilitation (a German post-doctoral degree) in Information Technology and Computer Science from Technical University Berlin. He has more than 35 years’ experience in research, development and teaching software engineering, validation & verification, fault tolerance, and quality assurance. He started as a programmer in the aircraft industry and wrote programs to create simulation environments and to validate safety critical features.  In 1983, he was awarded a professorship at the University of Applied Sciences in Bremerhaven; in 1989 he moved to the University of Paderborn. Dr. Belli was also, for many years, a faculty member of the University of Maryland, College Park, European Division. He was also founding chair of the Computer Science Department at the University of Economics in Izmir, Turkey. Dr. Belli has an interest and experience in software reliability/fault tolerance, model-based testing, and test automation.

s_amariDr. Suprasad V. Amari

Dr. Suprasad V. Amari is a Senior Principal Reliability Engineer at BAE Systems where he serves as Software Reliability subject matter expert. He received his B.Tech degree in mechanical engineering from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, India, in 1990. He was awarded the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Reliability Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India, in 1992 and 1998, respectively. Prior to joining BAE Systems, Dr. Amari served about 14 years as a Technical Fellow at Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) where he led the design and development of advanced modeling features and computational algorithms for Windchill Quality Solutions (formerly Relex) Software Product Suite. He also worked at Relyence Corporation as a product manager and reliability subject matter expert. From 1996 to 2001, Dr. Amari worked at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) where he served as technical lead of the Data Mining and Machine Learning group. His research interests include hardware and software reliability, fault-tolerant computing, dynamic dependability models, and condition-based maintenance. He has authored or coauthored 6 book chapters in Springer Handbooks and over 80 research papers published in reputable international journals and conference proceedings. He coauthored a book on Binary Decision Diagrams and Extensions for System Reliability Analysis. He was General Chair of the 2017 Annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium (RAMS 2017) and now serves as an SAE Representative on the RAMS Board. He received the 2009 Stan Oftshun Award from the Society of Reliability Engineers (SRE), the 2009 William A.J. Golomski Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), and the 2013 RAMS Best Paper award from ASQ Reliability Division. He is a senior member of ASQ, IEEE, and IISE. He is a member of ACM, ISSS, SAE International and SRE. He is an ASQ-certified Reliability Engineer.
