A Performability Aspect of Tandem CRCs' Undetected Burst ErrorsSC IJPE 22Meng-Lai YinElectrical and Computer Engineering, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, USA, and Raytheon Network Centric Systems, Specialty Engineering, Fullerton, USAReceived on: August 17, 2009 Abstract:This article presents the conditional probability of undetected burst errors for tandem Cyclic Redundancy Codes (CRCs) from a performability point of view. The precondition is that a burst error with length longer than the guaranteed detectable length has occurred. This presentation demonstrates the applicability and usefulness of the performability framework.
