Abstract: This article presents the conditional probability of undetected burst errors for tandem Cyclic Redundancy Codes (CRCs) from a performability point of view. The precondition is that a burst error with length longer than the guaranteed detectable length has occurred. This presentation demonstrates the applicability and usefulness of the performability framework.
