ANNOUNCEMENTS

Handbook on Performability Engineering

Handbook on Performability Engineering edited by Professor Krishna B. Misra and published by Springer Verlag, U.K., in 2008 has contributions from 100 leading authors from various areas of Performability Engineering in the form of 76 chapters spread over 1316 pages and is expected to provide an insight of the latest developments in all its constituent areas, such as Quality, Reliability, Clean Production, Maintainability / Maintenance, Safety, Risk and Sustainability. The book also has chapters on impact of newer technologies such as Biotechnology; Nanotechnology etc. on performability engineering and it also presents applications of performability to areas like nuclear power plants, power generation, healthcare system, railroad, software development besides highlighting the key problems in these areas of applications. In the present age of globalization, the Handbook also discusses newer business and engineering management strategies. In fact the idea is to cover the entire canvas of performability engineering in the 21st Century regime so this book can serve as a reference book on the subject. Springer Verlag, U.K. have announced the Handbook of Performability Engineering on their website at: www.springer.com/978-1-84800-130-5. Interested readers and organizations can obtain further details at the above website. This is the first book ever-published having such a wide coverage providing a holistic view of the subject of performability engineering and management. The handbook contains a Foreword from Professor Way Kuo, Chief Editor IEEE Trans. on Reliability and a Prologue written by Dr. William E. Vesely of NASA Headquarters.

This Handbook can be ordered using the form provided in this PDF file.
